Big Boy

Yesterday we took Bear to get his birthday pictures done. It was a nightmare! First off, yesterday was a very busy day. I attended a babyshower with Bug and neither Bug nor Bear had a nap. So by the time we got to the portrait studio, both were very tired and cranky. So we started the photo session and right away we knew we'd have problems. Bear would not sit still for nothin'! The photographer would place him into a cute pose and Bear thought it was funny to wiggle around and not listen. We almost called the whole thing off. Then finally after about 15 minutes, we got a quick smile and she snapped the photo... Now, I really debated whether or not to keep this picture and continue with the session, or just go home and try another day. After all, we still had six more pictures to go! We decided to continue. Now to make things worse, the photographer was very pregnant, and seemed to have had a bad day... She was pretty cranky and annoyed too. But after fighting with Bear for every picture, we finally got all 7 pictures done. We were all very relieved. Now it was time for the photographer to try and sell us all of the pictures in a very expensive package. Of course we told her no, which really seemed to upset her. We did however buy the first pose and the cd-rom with all the additional pictures on it. We usually buy the extras if the studio sends them back with the package. It's much cheaper this way and we get 2 sets of 3.5 X 5 of every picture. The worst part of this whole thing, is that I was hoping to get the pictures back by the 14th of May, which happens to be Bear's birthday, his Daddy's birthday, as well as Mother's Day. Since we're having a party for everyone this year, I was hoping to be able to give the pictures out. However according to the picture receipt, the pictures wont be back until the 18th. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that they'll come back a little early. We'll see what happens. After the picture session, we went to Grandma and Papa's house for a visit because Grandma has some friends in town. We didn't even get there until 8:00 p.m. so we didn't stay long. We got home at 10:00 last night. We also bought the kids some new clothes. Bear got a new shirt and a full outfit. (Which we had his picture taken in...) and Bug got a new skirt and 2 new tank tops to match it. All of her new clothes are 4th of July-ish. Very cute! The day felt like it would NEVER end! I'm glad it's over now, but all in all, it was a pretty fun day.
