For Memorial Weekend this year, we will be going to the cabin. I can hardly wait except that there will be a total of about 21 people there! Talk about crowded! We've already staked out the trailer, so everyone else is on their own this time. The weather isn't supposed to be that great but no matter how the weather is, I'm sure we'll all have fun. We were a little worried the other night, Bear woke up screaming and when I picked him up, he felt like he was burning up. I gave him some children's tylenol and then put him to bed with us. Almost immediately his temperature went away and he was ice cold to the touch. Then about an hour later, he was burning up again. All night he was talking in his sleep from the effects of the fever, so none of us got very much sleep that night. But the next morning he was bouncin' off the walls again, just like normal. So I guess everything is fine now. We recently got a fire belly toad for the kids... Of course we didn't let them touch it, we know that the toads have toxins... He was just a neat thing to watch... Well, after about a week, the poor thing died. Not uncommon since most animals from pet stores get sent home sick. We could have easily taken the toad back for a refund, but we saw the perfect opportunity for a learning lesson for the kids, so we took the kids into the back yard and had a funeral for "Patch". That's what we had named him because he looked like 2 different frogs patched together. Anyhow the kids said their goodbyes, and now Patch is resting peacefully in the flower garden. We will eventually be getting a new fire belly toad but not until we buy a larger habitat for it. Since we have this tiny little frog enclosure and no frog, we've decided that when we go to the cabin this weekend, we will catch a lizard and bring him home so the kids have a new pet. Everytime the kids walk past Patch's cage, they say "Poor Patch, I'm sorry he died." I know they don't understand death yet, but they do know that when someone or something dies, they wont be coming back. It's a start in the experience of explaining the ways of life to them. A small step on a LONG road!!!

Birthday Boy!

My little Bear turned 3 years old on Mother's Day! I can't believe he has grown so much. It's a little sad, but just as amazing watching him learn new things and helping himself for the first time. He has become quite the character and he's VERY stubborn. He refuses to mind his Mommy and Daddy unless he feels like he wants to. It can be very frustrating sometimes. But when he runs up to me and gives me a great big "Bear Hug" it makes it all worth while. He has grown into a handsome little man, and he's very determined to do things his way. He makes me more proud every day! We had a wonderful party for him and his Dad since it was his birthday as well. We had a giant waterslide and the kids all had a blast. The adults had their fun too. We all got some much needed sunshine, and the day was beautiful and warm. What more could we ask for?

A Beautiful Week
This week has been so nice! The sun has been shining and the temperatures are getting up there. But I think the thing that makes it even better is that I am finally over my sickness. And after only 24 days! HA! I'm excited for this coming weekend, it's going to be Mother's Day on Sunday, as well as my baby's birthday, and my "hubby's" birthday. My little Bear is going to be 3 years old! We're having a party for everyone, the Moms, Bear and his Daddy, and Bryan and Robin since it is also their anniversary on Sunday... We were expecting to have a great big party, but unfortunately, since it is Mother's Day, most of our family are saying that they probably wont be able to make it to the party. Ohwell I guess that's what happens when it's a holiday. But we'll make the best out of the party anyhow. I'm a little nervous though because the 5 day forecast showed nothing but sun and hot temps, but when I watched it this morning, they are now predicting a thunderstorm for Saturday... As long as it stays on Saturday, that's fine, but hopefully it doesn't jump into Sunday. The party is going to be outside, and I was planning on letting the kids play in the water since the temps are supposed to be in the mid 80s! Bear is getting so excited for his big day. He's been running around all week singing "Happy Birthday to me!" Then he tells us all about how Sunday will be planned out. "I get to open presents, and play at Papa and Grandma's house, and eat cake and icecream." I can barely believe he's gonna be 3! He's not a baby anymore...

A little nervous

Today I decided to get back into the wedding planning. Since I have been ill for so long, I just haven't had the energy to do anything! I got onto Frenze Bridal's website to see the picture of the wedding dress I want, and I noticed that they have redesigned their webpage. So at first things were a little confusing... I looked under the Wedding Gown category and "my" dress wasn't there. Oh no! Well after looking around a little while longer, I found it under "1 week delivery." Okay so that was a relief but now I'm worried, if it's under 1 week delivery, does that mean that it might be discontinued soon? I'd be heartbroken. When I first set out to find a dress, I looked at many different designs, but when I saw this one, it stuck! I've looked at similar styles, but I personally do not like the other styles as much as this one. I think it's perfect. My biggest problem is that I don't want to purchase my dress until I lose some more weight and get down a few sizes. I've been working hard at it, and I've lost about 25 pounds, but I've only dropped one size. The other problem is that when I was really sick, I couldn't exercise because it would throw me into a coughing fit. Since I'm going on my 4th week of illness, I've missed out on alot of weight loss opportunity. I wouldn't have this problem if the doctors had just told me that Depo can cause extreme weight gain! It's very frustrating. At least I have about 10 more months to lose weight before I HAVE to buy my dress. I'm just really nervous that the dress will no longer be there. I was tempted to buy the dress now and just buy one that's about 3 sizes smaller than I am now, but then I could run into the problem of the dress not fitting properly. I don't want to be forced into settling for a dress that I didn't love. Why do weddings have to be so stressful? This is supposed to be fun!!!!
