Happy Birthday Cuddle Bug!

Today my baby is officially 5 years old! I can't believe that she has grown up so fast! She has learned so much, especially in the last year. She has mastered tying her shoes, spelling a couple words, including her name, and is starting to write her alphabet now. She lost 2 baby teeth and the adult teeth are coming in. She can ride a bike, (with training wheels) and is working on mastering her new scooter. This year will be busy for her since we will be starting her homeschooling this fall. We're all very excited about this! Happy Birthday my little Cuddle Bug! (Pictures in order from 5 years to 5½ months)

Bug's Birthday Party

Yesterday we celebrated my Little Bug's 5th birthday... Her birthday isn't really until Wednesday, but yesterday was perfect. The weather was beautiful and warm for most of the time, and my kids were well enough to have a ton of fun. Everyone had a lot of fun and there were plenty of kids running around. Bug got lots of presents and was spoiled as usual. We had yummy foods, a good cake and ice cream too. It's so hard to believe that she is already 5 years old! She has grown so quickly into a gorgeous little girl.

Happy Valentine's Day, and a sick kid too!

Bear woke up at 2:00 a.m. and got sick in his bed. Jeff and I got up and took care of the mess. I put Bear into the bath and Jeff cleaned up his bed. We finally got him into bed again and 10 minutes later, he got up to use the restroom and got sick again. This time I decided to take him out on the couch to sleep so I could keep an eye on him. He slept off and on until just after 6:00 this morning, then he got sick again. I was careful about what I allowed him to eat this morning, and everything seemed ok, but he got sick again.... then again.... So here it is a special day, and my poor little guy is laying on the couch, trying not to move. He's very sleepy and his tummy hurts. He didn't even want to pick a movie or have a small piece of candy. You know a kid is really not feeling well when they turn down candy! This is not how I had planned on spending my Valentine's day, but this is what happens when you have kids. I just hope I can make him feel better so it's not so miserable for him. For everyone else, have a happy Valentine's day and I hope it's full of romance!

And then there were none...

Tonight Bug lost the other loose tooth. And this time, she pulled it out all by herself. She looks so cute with a big hole in the middle. It wont be there long though since her two adult teeth are on their way in. (Picture taken February 9, 2007)

Goodbye Joshua...

Joshua Daniel Kelm
September 21, 1980 - February 4, 2007
Last year I found an old friend of mine on the internet. I began catching up on the years since highschool. I believe we began talking in August. In September, he turned 26. He had been having some health problems, so he took a trip to the doctor. Sadly, he was diagnosed with a tumor on his lung. He began taking pills to try and rid himself of the tumor. He refused chemo because he had read too many stories about people dying from the effects of Chemo, and not the cancer. Unfortunately, the pills stopped working, so Joshua decided not to try anything else, and to just enjoy the time he had left. I was very sad to get a bulletin from some friends today that said Joshua had passed away on Saturday night/Sunday morning. We will all miss him alot. Most of all I'll miss his jokes and sick sense of humor... I grew up with Joshua and his Sister, through school. We attended the same Elementary school, then the same Jr. High, and even the same high school. He was always a good friend and very dependable.

Although we all had warning about how short his time would be, it is still such a shock and very hard to understand. Joshua could be found every October, working at Rocky Point Haunted House. I remember walking through there when I was pregnant with Bug and Joshua was playing the part of Dr. Vanecutt from House on Haunted Hill... Well he decided to chase me down with a brain pick. Another memory that came up for me, his sister, and Joshua, was from when we were in elementary school. We had to ride the UTA bus to school because our school didn't have school buses. Well we were all a bunch of trouble makers, so we decided to pull the emergency exit handles on the bus windows, so that the windows would flap when we turned a corner. We all had alot of fun back then! So now we're just waiting for word on when his services will be so that Tiffany and I can attend. Goodbye Joshua, you will be missed! Rest in peace.

Whoa! Slow Down!

Today while I was playing with Bug, I noticed that the hole where her tooth used to be looked strange. Upon closer inspection I realized that her adult tooth is coming in already! It wasn't there the day the tooth came out, I checked. I haven't even been able to really enjoy the toothless grin yet and already it's going away. After that I checked her other loose tooth to see how loose it was now. Just behind the loose tooth is another adult tooth. Are you kidding me? When most kids don't even lose their first tooth until they're almost 6, my baby is losing two baby teeth and gaining two adult teeth all before she's even 5! It's not fair! She needs to slow down a little bit! I'm not sure if I can handle her growing up so fast...
