Smarty Pants

My Bear loves numbers. He has always done well with Math, and also loves puzzles and mazes. He is always coming up with different math equations, and they usually make sense. One day, while in the car, he was shouting out math problems. Then, Jeff asked him "What does 5+5+5 equal?" So Bear sits there and thinks about it for a minute, counts on his fingers... then shouts out "5+5+5 equals 15!!" I said "Very good, and that's the same as 5 times 3." Ever since then, he has been doing multiplication! He comes out of his room and says "Mommy, 5 times 7 equals 35!" I am amazed at how well my little 5 year old boy can pick these things up and just run with it. It makes homeschooling that much funner. These are all things that a "Kindergarten age" child shouldn't even know yet!

They are both doing great! They can both read pretty well, but prefer to read online on Starfall.com rather than reading from a book. We're working on that little problem though. Math is a little bit of a struggle for Bug, because she works better visually. If you just say a math equation, she gets confused and mistakes addition for subtraction, etc. But if a worksheet is in front of her, then she has no problems at all.

History is my favorite subject, so they both know alot about historical figures. We are all having so much fun!

Happy Birthday Tay!

We hope you have a wonderful relaxing day! We love you!!

Pure Boredom

I've been playing around in Paint Shop Pro 7 alot lately. Purely out of boredom. Sometimes I get the itch to be creative, and sometimes I just want to kill some time. Either way, ocassionally I come up with something good, add some nice effects to an existing picture, or like the following example, just try to make something "Cute". So here's the cuteness I came up with at 11:30 last night.

Digi-Scrap!

This is my first ever digi-layout. I've been wanting to try digi-scrapping for awhile now, but was too impatient to wait for the downloads to complete. I decided to give it another try today, and look what I came up with! I used Paint Shop Pro 7 to put it all together. I added my own effects. I'm very happy with it. Not bad for a first try!

Cleaning up the leaves.

YIPPEE!!
YAHOO!!
Where's Bear?

Shhh... You don't see me!

Camouflage Bear!
Anyone seen Bug?
Bug taking a short nap in the leaves
Yesterday we decided to clean up the leaves in the yard. The kids really enjoyed "cleaning" up the leaves! They took turns jumping, throwing and hiding in the leaves. They buried each other and had Jeff blow the leaves off of them with the leaf blower.

New Pajamas!

I was feeling crafty yesterday, so I dug through my garage and found some leftover fleece that I've had for about a year. This is the finished product:

She loves them. The shirt turned out a little shorter than I had planned. But I guess that's what I get for whipping something together without a pattern.

Happy Halloween!

The kids enjoyed the trick or treating this year. It almost didn't happen though.
Bear came down with a tummy bug tonight just as we were getting him ready to go.
We tried not to stay out too long, and Jeff ended up bringing him home a little early, but both of them are enjoying a massive amount of candy! We had ghouls and goblins ringing our doorbell long after the candy was gone and the lights were turned off. Here it is 11:30 at night and we can still hear kids running through the neighborhood. Our neighborhood had several houses that went all out in decorations. Including one house with hot cocoa, and another house with a fogger, strobe light, bubbles, loud music, and syncronized lights. There were people dancing in the driveway! We all had alot of fun. I just wish my Little Bear was feeling better.

I got the pictures!

Jessica emailed me all the low quality pictures today, and told me just to let her know which ones we want in high resolution. Well we narrowed it down to 25 pictures. I noticed that some that I remember her taking weren't there, so I'm assuming they just didn't turn out. Ohwell. So here's just a couple, so you can get a peek. I hope you like them as much as we do!

Getting Anxious

The kids are anxiously awaiting Halloween! Jeff always takes the day off, so we're planning a day of fun! Bug and Bear are both constantly asking if they can wear their costumes, and after I did a few alterations to the costumes, I think they're finally ready for the spooky night. I told the kids that I'd take them outside in their costumes today, and snap a few pictures. Minus the makeup of course. Right now Bug and I are fighting a nasty cold. I'm just hoping Bear doesn't get it by Friday. Hopefully Bug and I will be better by then.

Please Vote!

This picture looks a little blurry when you click the link. It's just because of the size they made it.

Don't worry, I know this isn't a legit site. I don't care. It's just nice to be able to see what others think of my pictures.

Wheeler Farm

We went to the historical Wheeler Farm tonight and had some family pictures done. One of the Mommies, Jessica Lloyd, was practicing to go pro. She offered to take pictures of some of us Mommies completely free! I couldn't pass that up so I spoke with her last month, and I managed to get her last open spot in October! She took tons of pictures, and she's going to edit some of them and then give me a disk with the images on them. Starting next month, she'll be pro. We had lots of fun, and while reviewing the pictures, it appears that we got quite a few awesome ones! So... Pics coming soon! I can't wait!!!!

I've been tagged!

Tiffany was nice enough to tag me on her blog, so here it is...

1. Where were you 10 years ago? 10 year ago I was 17, I had just met Austin, from the internet, I was having alot of fun.

2. What's on your to do list today? I have to school the kids. It's Columbus Day, so we'll be reviewing him and making a working compass.

3. What if you were a Billionaire? First I would buy some land in the mountains, with a stream on it, then I would build a huge log cabin, with a fireplace in the livingroom and master bedroom. I would sell our house, so we could live in the mountains. I would also buy a nice big beach front home in Maui so we could go whenever we wanted. I would also pay off all the houses we owned and my parents house.

4. Name five places you have lived: Salt Lake City, Pleasant View, Clearfield, West Jordan, West Valley

5. What are three bad habits you have? Leaving clothes in the hamper instead of folding them. Forgetting laundry in the washer, forgetting to turn off the candle warmer.

6.What kind of snacks do you like? Graham Crackers and chocolate frosting, candy corn, anything chocolate. I love fruit too.

7. Who will you tag next? Taylor!

More Fall Fun!

The kids and I went outside for a small "photo shoot." Okay, I admit it, I'm trigger happy with the camera lately!!! I wanted to get some cute fall pictures before the rain and cold comes this weekend. So even though the weather was warm, I dressed the kids up and took tons of pictures. I was having so much fun. I only wish I had a better camera, instead of this broken old thing. A better background would have been good too, instead of the chain link fence, but I still love the pictures!

Loving her little brother!

He looks so sweet.
