Smarty Pants

My Bear loves numbers. He has always done well with Math, and also loves puzzles and mazes. He is always coming up with different math equations, and they usually make sense. One day, while in the car, he was shouting out math problems. Then, Jeff asked him "What does 5+5+5 equal?" So Bear sits there and thinks about it for a minute, counts on his fingers... then shouts out "5+5+5 equals 15!!" I said "Very good, and that's the same as 5 times 3." Ever since then, he has been doing multiplication! He comes out of his room and says "Mommy, 5 times 7 equals 35!" I am amazed at how well my little 5 year old boy can pick these things up and just run with it. It makes homeschooling that much funner. These are all things that a "Kindergarten age" child shouldn't even know yet!

They are both doing great! They can both read pretty well, but prefer to read online on Starfall.com rather than reading from a book. We're working on that little problem though. Math is a little bit of a struggle for Bug, because she works better visually. If you just say a math equation, she gets confused and mistakes addition for subtraction, etc. But if a worksheet is in front of her, then she has no problems at all.

History is my favorite subject, so they both know alot about historical figures. We are all having so much fun!
