SLCM Playdate!

Today we went to the morning SLCM playdate at Centennial Park. There were lots of kids there and alot of the mommies from coffee last night. But unfortunately the weather was a little too cold for all of us. We only stayed for about an hour, but the kids had lots of fun while it lasted.

Meet & Greet

Last night, Tiffany and I went to SLCM meet & greet. We went to Beans & Brews and had a great time. Tiffany had been to a couple events before, so she knew most of the mommies there but they were all new to me. We spent a couple hours having a girl chat and sipping down our coffee! It was so nice to finally put a face to the people I've been talking to for 2 months now. All the mommies were so nice!

Easter in Capitol Reef

The weather was great, just a little cold and rainy on Easter day but we all had so much fun. The kids woke up to a surprise from the Easter Bunny and they rushed out of the tent to find the eggs. I didn't even get a chance to run a brush through their hair or wash their faces. We did some hiking and took lots of pictures. We saw lots of deer too. It was alot of fun.

~Nightmare~ April 5, 2007

Last night we had Nightmare put out of his misery. I spent all day downstairs with him, saying my goodbyes. He wanted me to hold him and he just layed on my chest and rested. He gave me lots of kisses and even did some purring. We all did our share of crying yesterday and Bug had a real hard time with it. Nightmare seemed to bond with her alot. I even took Nightmare outside yesterday so he could enjoy the sunshine and grass one last time. After we said our goodbyes, Mary took him in and had him put to sleep. We would have loved to bury Nightmare but since we have no where to do that, we had him cremated and Mary got a nice little black urn. She'll pick up his remains today when she gets home from work. Goodbye Nightmare...

Nightmare

We were saddened to learn this morning that our loving sweet Nightmare has cancer. He became very sick suddenly a few days ago and we rushed him to the emergency vet Saturday evening. They just got the results back today. As much as we love Nightmare, we think it's probably for the best to euthanize him instead of trying to treat the cancer with chemo-therapy. We haven't made our final decision yet though.

~*Kisca*~

This is our beautiful new baby. She's 9 months old and she's just a sweetheart. We already love her. Our other cat, Nightmare hasn't been doing so well lately and we think he may be dying. We made the decision to get a new kitten so that if Nightmare does pass on, the kids will have another cat to keep their minds off of Nightmare. I have a fascination with unique names, and I got to name her. The pet store had her named "Princess" and that just wasn't for us. I have always liked the name Kisca (pronounced KISS-KUH)and was saving it for when I got a Siberian Husky, but since Jeff hates dogs, I guess that will never happen. I got the name from when Hogle Zoo had twin polar bears in 1998. Their names were Koluk & Kiska. Jeff liked the name so I changed the spelling to Kisca and we call her "Kiss" for short. But I've caught myself calling her "Ki Ki" a couple times now.
